AVP 2 - DVD help needed please

ok..can anyone tell me (monthly team im lookin at u)
if the UK R2 version of avp2 will be the uncut version like the US R1 version?

the US version is out now and is uncut with about 8min of deleted footage.but the yanks are saying the UK version is the cinema version and minus extra scenes.

also..the UK version seems to be getting 3extra featurettes over the US version...why? to make up for lack of uncut version?

can anyone definatley confirm these rumours?

and..the US version is 2dics but one of the discs is actually a digital disc for portable use or whatever u use digital discs for...so really the 2disc is actually just one disc.quite a rip of really and bad advertising.

There's two version coming out in the UK. The one-disc has the theatrical version with the only special feature being a deleted scene. The two-disc 'Extreme Combat Edition' includes the longer, more graphic, cut of the movie, plus a disc of special features (but no digital copy of the film). Can't be absolutely sure whether the UK is getting more featurettes, although we're getting a 'Science Of The Hunter' featurette which it appears isn't on the US edition. Hope that helps.

thanks....on the avp forum im in they have said that the UK version does indeed get 3 more featurettes.
the UK version is the same as the version asia gets..R3
and they have 3 extra featurettes :)
probably 10min jobs though...or less :rolleyes:

Im guessing by now the answer to whether the Region 2 DVD is a good purchase will have been answered and decided.
I bought the 2 DVD set this week and watched it on Monday. I hated the film. Although im having the urge to watch it again thus giving it a second chance. Could it become a guilty pleasure film?

AVP and AVP2 are crap. Fact. Let's accept this fact and move on!

No edition of the film is worth buying because the film is a lazy cash-in on a once-great franchise (or two).

AVP wasnt that bad. It didnt come close to anything in the Alien Franchise or even the Predator films but it was visually pretty good. But AVP2 was a million times worse

sorry guys but im a predator nut and just cant help loving anything they do involving it haha

avp was dissapointing but had some nice touches.

avp2 was darker n seedier which kinda made it better but the predalien was awful and badly realised.watch the extras and u will see how brilliant it could have looked if the studios hadnt gotten their way as usual :mad:

Also listen to the commentary and youll hear what the original version of this film would have been like before Fox got the jitters
