Hi,
I was just wondering whether there are any DVD titles left that people want, but which hasn't come out yet in the UK. We could think of a fair few in the magazine offices, but we were just wondering if there were any other people were still waiting for (or which they've given up on coming out over here and decided to buy the Region 1 instead).

If I can't get a film in the UK, I tend to get them on r1 instead (Most recently I bought The Burning).
But anyway, here are a couple of films I'm yet to see appear on r2 DVD:
Tango & Cash
Major League
Cannonball Run 2
Slumber Party Massacre (I have a weakness for slasher films :o )
The Burning (Was available, but has now been deleted)
And I'm still wondering why the heck the US has got the final season of The Dukes Of Hazzard (They've had it over a year), but we haven't.
I'm also waiting for the forthcoming r2 releases to get out of Distribution Delay Hell:
Joey: Season 2
Baywatch: Season 2

Joey Season Two is already out on region 1. As for the region 2 release, there's been some murmuring that it'll hit shelves by the end of the year - probably around November.

Thanks Jordan :)
I was thinking about getting the r1 version of Joey Season Two, but I thought I'd wait a couple more months to hear if an r2 release was gonna happen, so maybe I'll just wait it out :)

Glad to help. It's a far better show than people give it credit for.

I've been waiting for the R2 release of Hardware for ages. Also hoping for a release of Split Second, starring Rutger Hauer.
Bit of a "grey area" question here, but I have a question about the Special Edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
All the films from Wrath Of Khan to Insurrection were released with pretty much a uniform packaging, and even Nemesis was re-released (with a few more features), so as to match up with the previous 8 films. But The Motion Picture still doesn't have the same packaging as the others :?.
Is this ever gonna be corrected? :(
Surely I'm not the only person who thinks the cover stands out like a sore thumb when compared to the ohers.

Did anyone ever see a movie called Photographing Fairies? It was about a bloke (Toby Stephens) who becomes obsessed with discovering whether there's a world beyond our own after his wife dies, and so goes to a country village to see if he can photograph the fairies that are supposed to live. However he soon comes up against opposition from the local vicar (Ben Kingsley).
It was made in the late 90s and is a lot more adult and clever than it might sound. I'm still waiting for it to coming to DVD, but so far no luck!

There was another film based on the same kind of storyline, the two women in the victorian age I believe who claimed they had fairies living at the bottom of their garden or near by. Cant remember the name but its all based on fact and pretty interesting, I dont think anyone really found out if they were telling the truth or not, I think one of the women did admit to it all being a hoax but the other woman would not say, she said she spoke the truth right up to her death.
she always claimed it to be real.

'Fairytale: A True Story' came out around the same time as 'Photographing Fairies' and was based on the case of the Cottingley Fairies, where in the 1910s, two girls said they'd taken photo of fairies in their garden.
As for whether it is actually 'A True Story' or not (the film was liberal with what happened either way), the women did indeed eventually admit the photos were a hoax and that they'd cut pictures out of magazines and posed them to make it look like they had fairies at the bottom of the garden. However they still maintained one of the photos was real and that they had seen real fairies.
So for some unexplained reason, Baywatch: Season 2 didn't get released :(. But I was looking over Play.com, and I found this :

I pretty much thought it was never gonna get a release  . At that price, I'm almost tempted to replace my r1 copy with the r2 copy, LOL.
I've also seen that they're re-issuing the 3rd Rock From The Sun Season box sets (after they pretty much dissappeared from stores), but after getting half of the original releases, I have this feeling that the new sets will no longer have the spine artwork that will complete the original spine image that I had started building up with the original releases :(.
Also, is there any chance of Blind Fury being released on r2? and seeing how the remaining Cheers seasons are now being released in the US, will season 7 onwards be getting an r2 release?.

Mr. B, some bad news. There are now no plans for Joey Season Two to hit the UK. Even worse, the region 1 version is getting harder to find by the day. If you want a copy, I suggest you go to Amazon.ca as it's cheaper in Canada than anywhere else.
Aw :(
But thanks for the update anyway Jordan :).
I'll give amazon.ca a check-out :)
