Just to let you all know that DVD Monthy has decided to go digital to compliment the printed magazines.

You can now log on to www.digitalnewsagent.com and download DVD Monthly to keep on your computer forever. You’ll get the whole magazine, supplements, ads and all and you’ll have the ability to zero onto a particular page or photo and zoom in real close without loosing any picture quality. In fact as it will be digital, the images will appear sharper than the printed copy!

DVD Monthly Digital will not be web based and will be a self-contained file so you can download your copy to say, a USB memory stick or iPod then pop it into your lap top and read the mag whereever you like. On the train, in the office, anywhere!

Also available soon will be back issues of both DVD Monthly, ready to download at the click of a button to your PC or lap-top.

If you are struggling to find a gift for a loved one then you can buy gift vouchers redeemable on the website for however many issues that your voucher will allow.

DVD Monthly will still be printed every four weeks (that’s thirteen issues a year!) and the digital version will be available on the same ‘on sale’ date as its printed counterpart.

We are hoping that DVD Monthly Digital will make the magazine a global product giving our overseas readers the chance to get the latest mag on the same day as our British readers. As there will be no postage costs, It will be a lot cheaper for all foreign readers, typically £1.97!
Sounds like a real bargain to me…

Nope, we're not stopping the printed version. This is just in addition to that.

It's not web-based in the sense that once it's been downloaded, you don't need to be connected to the internet to view it. It's a separate file that sits on your PC. There's actually a free copy of Volkswagen Camper magazine you can download from the website to give it a test run and see if you like it.

HEY NOW

what has happened to the US R1 release dates???
thats a good useful bit of info guys :(
can u bring that back please?

and the bluray section of the mag is waaaay too big now,the newest edition (jumper cover) seems to have a huge bluray section.....not needed guys.

u also cut down the R1 review section, again thats useful for seeing dvd feature differences etc...

not good :(
yr mag is the ONLY dvd mag that does R1 reviews/releases guys, please dont lose that cos thats the reason i get monthy :)

Hi, we took the decision to change the way we do Region 1s after we parted ways with our previous Region 1 supplier. Sorry you feel the change isn't a good one, but with the 'Round-up' we're actually still covering about the same amount of titles as we were before, and we should also be able to get a better range of discs, as previously many of the R1 titles we were reviewing would have been out to buy for six weeks to two months by the time we went on sale.

Also with the HD Monthly section, there are a lot of people out there who are keen to know all about the latest Blu-ray releases. The way we've done it is to try and ensure that there's actually just as much DVD reviews, news and everything else as there's always been, but an expanded HD section as well - and the HD part is all in one place, rather than being spread all over the place as it is in some other magazines.

As I said, I'm sorry if you're not keen on the changes, and we'll certainly take your comments on board and look at what you've said. It's always a delicate balancing act between what different people want from a home ent. mag, so we're always working on hearing what people have to say, whether the comments are positive or not.

ok ok understood,
but can u please try to squeeze the R1 release date list back in? even if its small (it doesnt need to have much fanfare),just the names n dates cos its SO useful hehe

the amount of times i have found out about an R1 film release that i wanted to get or had been waiting on,and i found out about it purely through yr mag :)
so useful and important.

if beetlejuice special ever comes out i need u guys to tell me in the R1 release schedule so i dont miss it ;)
(you'd be surprised how many R1 films release and disappear cos they never make it over here......75th anniversary edition of dracula with lugosi for instance)
