What was the first ever DVD anyone bought?
The first one I ever received (as a 2002 Christmas present) was Phoenix Nights Series 1. I bought Amelie a few days later.

Fight Club was my very first DVD.
I think it was Fight Club, but I wouldn't swear to it, especially as my copy went AWOL and I ended up buying it again recently.
As part of my 21st Birthday (2001), I got both Mission: Impossible 2 and The Matrix, along with a multi region DVD player, Surround Sound Speakers, and a big Telly :D

Batman was my first DVD i think. It hadnt long been released on dvd and was one of those friggin Warner Bros cardboard snap cases that have now thankfully disappeared. For ages i didnt realise that the plastic edge of the case opened up. I thought the cover just slid behind it! :o It wasnt until somebody i knew at work had got a dvd player that i saw them opening the box the correct way. I just kept quiet and got home and snapped away for a couple of minutes marvelling at my own stupidity. I was the first person i know who had a dvd player so i am kind of going to let myself off.
P.S. Does anybody know where i can find out the release date of Batman on dvd? Be interesting to know how long i have been buying dvd's for and not had to use nasty clunky vhs.

On the HMV website, they list the original release dates for most of their back catalogue albums and DVDs. Unless if the the original Batman DVD release has been deleted, you might find your answer there :) .

Thanks Mr.B. On HMV it says 'Release date: 25-9-1998' so i think i got it around Jan 99 with my first player. Hasnt it gone fast!
Hubbs thanks for info about Batman SE's. I am aware of them but i'll be waiting until i can get them in an HD format now.
