Tommy Cooper: Just Like That!
Reviewer: Jordan Brown
Issue 106 August 2008
Review: The 15th April 1984 was a dark day for comedy. That was when Tommy Cooper, often regarded as one of the funniest (if not, the funniest) comedians to ever live, died live on air. Master of rib-aching catchphrases, “failed” magic tricks and pulling funny faces, the material that the fez-wearing comic delivered remains as pant-wettingly funny today as it ever was. It therefore comes as a great delight that Just Like That! makes its way to digital disc. Featuring two and a half hours of magical mishaps, including Cooper trying to catch a bullet with his teeth and trying to escape from an airtight chest, this two-disc set is a laugh-a-minute riot that shows no signs of aging. At a mere £13, you’d be mad not to buy it.
