The Uninvited

Review: Five years after its initial release and The Uninvited finally makes a long overdue appearance on DVD. Starring Shin-yang Park, the film tells the tale of an interior decorator who falls asleep on the Tube, only to wake up and see a pair of dead girls. Haunted by ghostly visions of the murdered children, he meets the troubled Yeon while working at a psychiatrist’s office. Intrigued by the young woman, he takes her back to his apartment, only to find that she can also see the apparitions. A haunting, effective Korean chiller, The Uninvited is enjoyably atmospheric, beautifully shot and frequently unnerving. The only downside really is that it’s a bit conventional for an Asian horror movie. Other than that, it’s a solidly entertaining slice of spine-tingling terror.
