Review: After consistently entertaining the UK for donkey’s years, the ever-hilarious Paul Merton finally gets his day in this cracking little two-disc set. Hosted by the man himself, The Paul Merton Collection features classic footage from shows such as ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’, ‘Room 101’ and ‘Have I Got News For You’, as well as a bunch of sketches from ‘Paul Merton: The Series’. Laden with the comic’s trademark dry wit, this is almost six hours of sheer comedy gold. As well as featuring stuff from each of his series, the set also includes hilarious interviews with Michael Parkinson and Clive Anderson, as well as a couple of versions of Merton’s short The Suicidal Dog. With a ton of other exclusive material included too, it makes up a set that fans will love.
