The Incredible Hulk – Season 1, Volume 1
Reviewer: Tom Leins
Issue 106 August 2008
Review: Cunningly released to tie in with the upcoming Ed Norton flick, this DVD gathers together the first six episodes of Season 1 of the 1996 Hulk cartoon. Whilst it isn’t a brilliant animated effort, The Incredible Hulk is an interesting curio that will entertain fans of the franchise, if few others. That said, it is noticeably better than the previous year’s limp ‘Iron Man’ effort. Lou Ferrigno reprises his live action TV role and voices Hulk, and the likes of Mark Hamill and Luke Perry also add their own unique vocal talents to proceedings. Familiar Marvel characters who get involved include Iron Man, Ghost Rider, Abomination and The Gargoyle. The sole special feature included is a brisk comparison between the 1996 footage and the digitally re-mastered animation used on this DVD. Unfortunately this set only features half of the series, offering poor value for money.
