Ted Nugent – Sweden Rocks

Review: Full-time firearm enthusiast, part time redneck rock ‘n’ roll rabble-rouser, Ted Nugent, is a reliably strange presence in the world of hard rock. This new concert DVD (filmed in 2006) finds the old war-horse on another tour of duty, slaying Sweden with his arsenal of metallic missiles. Subtlety has never been Nugent’s strong point, and this concert set sees him bludgeon an enthralled audience into submission with tracks like ‘Snakeskin Cowboys’, ‘Raw Dogs & War Hogs’ and ‘Wang Dang Sweet Poontang’! The visuals are sometimes murky and unfocused, but I’m sure that most of his fans will be too drunk to notice! The frankly ludicrous special features see ‘The Nuge’ teaching his backing band how to hunt with a bow and arrow and then instructing a terrified group of family and friends how to use high calibre weaponry on his ranch. Absolutely bonkers!
