Review: Four movies from one of France’s most popular exports, the Screen Icons box set includes the black comedy Buffet Froid (1979), Mon Pere Ce Hero (1991) (which was remade as My Father The Hero (1994) with a then unknown Katherine Heigl), Tous Les Matins Du Monde (1991) and the most recent instalment, Le Colonel Chabert (1994). The selection of films on offer are choice cuts from the actor’s eclectic and exhausting back catalogue, and the set does an exceptional job at showcasing Depardieu’s range and effortless diversity. While a little skimpy in regards to the number of movies included in the set, the box set becomes even less impressive due to the lack of special features, which merely includes a ‘Making Of…’ featurette and a trailer on Tous Les Matins Du Monde.
