Lamb of God – Walk With Me In Hell

Full Metal Racket!
Review: Mega-selling metal merchants Lamb of God have racked up three million sales over the last decade, consolidating their terrifying appeal with jaw-dropping stints at Ozzfest and Download. Now signed to the European arm of Roadrunner Records, the group are truly part of the metal major league. This immense package features roughly five hours of footage, spearheaded by the access-all-areas documentary Walk With Me In Hell. However, that’s not all – lucky fans are also treated to a detailed ‘Making Of Sacrament’ feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary, and an uncut concert set from 2007’s Download festival, as well as assorted bonus tracks and music videos.
The band seem like nice guys for the most part, coming perilously close to boring on occasion. That said, when off-stage their favourite ways of letting off steam are: going to the desert to shoot watermelons with high-calibre firearms, messing about with whips in car parks and accidentally hacking off their own toes with machetes! Dangerous dudes! Overall though, if the gig excerpts weren’t quite so violently loud then you would be in real danger of falling asleep as the documentary trudges towards the finishing line. With five hours of material to sift through, Walk With Me In Hell is undoubtedly a great value package. Sadly however, the documentary is low on insight and will only be of interest to hardcore Lamb of God devotees. The special features are much more engaging, turning the package into a tempting proposition for enthusiastic metal fans. Handle with care!
