Hot Tamale
Reviewer: Tom Leins
Issue 106 August 2008
Review: Small town boy Harlan (Randy Spelling) yearns to play the drums in a salsa band, and quits sleepy Wyoming for the bright lights and big city of Los Angeles. However, when he stops at a roadside café en route, Harlan encounters the enigmatic Jude (Jason Priestly), who is on the run from two sinister mobster types. Unbeknownst to Harlan, Jude stashes his bag in Harlan’s car, giving the wannabe salsa star a big surprise when he arrives in LA! The surprises don’t end there – Jude’s former partner, the sultry Riley (Carmen Electra), arrives on the scene intent on wrestling back possession of the swag. If washed-up sex symbols and lightweight crime capers are your bag, Hot Tamale should help get you in the groove. If that doesn’t sound like your cup of salsa, then you should leave this lukewarm offering well alone…
