Review: Department S is a true cult TV show, and its uncut DVD arrival will definitely be a cause for celebration for many aging TV buffs. This whopping eight-disc package is literally bursting at the seams with retro espionage. As the memorable series trailer proclaimed: “When a case proves too baffling for the minds of Interpol, they turn to the talents of Department S!” Foppish crime writer Jason King may have been mercifully lampooned by Austin Powers in later years, but here he is joined by straight-talking action man Stewart Sullivan and glamorous techno-whiz Annabelle Hurst, who put their heads together to tackle an eye-opening variety of eerie assignments. Special features include a brand new documentary featuring principle cast members Wyngarde, Fabiani and Nicols, and an extensive (1300 images!) stills gallery.
